East Coast Surfing Championships
More than one hundred of the world's most rad pro surfers travel to Virginia Beach, VA each year for the East Coast Surfing Championships! Amateur surfers, professional surfers, both men and women! Over 400 athletes combined. Each one hoping for the perfect wave and competing for top cash prizes in one of the premier Virginia Beach events of the summer!
The Coastal Edge ECSC is hosted at the southern-most end of the VB boardwalk and is a fantastic community event. It's the perfect time to splurge on a Virginia Beach oceanfront hotel! You can walk out of your beachfront hotel and right into the action! There is plenty of beach entertainment including live bands, free concerts, beer tents and an amazing amount of food!
The competition doesn't stop with surfers! The East Coast Surf Championships will also host other sporting events and activities along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk including beach soccer, beach volleyball, skim boarding, skateboarding, a 5k run and a locals favorite: the beach bikini contest!
There is a cost to participate in the ECSC contests, but the concerts and entertainment are free and open to the public. You'll want to plan your Virginia Beach vacation time around the East Coast Surfing Championships and hang out on our fantastic oceanfront boardwalk all weekend long!
